Christ the Savior Orthodox Cathedral Choir was formed in Toronto, 1940.

Serge Boldireff, centre, was the choirmaster of this prominent group for 17 years, leading them in both Russian religious music and folk songs.
Today he is conductor of the Russian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, Washington, D.C. Serge’s father, the Rev. Oleg Boldireff, immigrated to Canada early in the 20th century, settling in Montreal and was a priest there for many of the 64 years he served as a Russian Orthodox clergyman.

The Choir itself has performed in Montreal, Ottawa, Buffalo, New York City, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania, in addition to Toronto’s Caravan. Recently, it made its European debut by performing in Poland.
